  DISH CLOTH PATTERN                                       

                                   Diagonal Medley
Size
About 91/2"x91/2
Materials:
Worsted weight cotton yarn, 2 1/2 oz (125 yards, 150 g ) variegated
size 7 straight knitting needles, or size required for gauge
Gauge:
9 sts = 2" in garter st (knit every row)
 
Instructions
Cast on 4 sts.
Row 1
Knit.
Row 2:
Knit in front and back of each st- 8 sts.
Row 3
Knit.
Row 4::
K 4, YO, knit to end of row
Rows 5 through 49 .
Rep.Row 4. At end of row 49-54 sts.
Row 50
K4, YO, K2 tog: knit to the end of row.
Row 51:
Rep Row 50
Row 52:
K3, k2tog; YO, K2tog; knit to the end of the row.
Rows 53 through 96:
Rep Row 52. At the end of Row 96-9 sts.
Row 97: K3 K2tog; K4-8sts.
Row 98:
Knit 8
Row 99:
Knit tog 4 times-4 sts.
Bind off.

SIZE:
About 8" wide x 9" high
Materials:
Worsted weight cotton yarn, 1 oz (50 yds, 30 g) each,
green, fuchsia orange, and yellow
Size 7 straight needles, or size required for gauge
Gauge:
9 sts = 2 " in stock st (knit one row, purl one row)

INSTRUCTIONS
With green cast on 40 sts.
Row 1 (wrong side):
knit 2, P36, k 2
Row 2 (right side)
knit
Row 3:
K 2, P36, K 2
Row 4:
K2, * (k 2 tog tbl) twise; (YO, K1) 4 times; ( k2 tog tbl) twise;
rep. from * twise more; K2
Row 5:
knit
Row 6 through 9
Join yellow, cut green; rep Rows 2 through 5.
Rows 10 through 17:
Join fuchsia, cut yellow; rep. Rows 2 through 5 twice.
Rows 18 through 25:
Join orange, cut fuchsia; rep. Rows 2 through 5 twice.
Rows 26 through 29:
Join yellow, cut orange; rep. Rows 2 through 5 twice.
Rows 30 through 37:
Join orange, cut yellow; rep. Rows 2 through 5.
Rows 38 through 45:
Join fuchsia, cut orange; rep. Rows 2 through 5 twice.
Rows 46 through 49:
Join yellow, cut fuchsia; rep. Rows 2 through 5 twice.
Rows 50 through 57:
Join green, cut yellow; rep. Rows 2 through 5 twice.
Bind off.

Materials:
Worsted weight cotton yarn, 1 oz (50 yds, 30 g) each,
variegated and purple
Size 7 straight needles, or size required for gauge
Guage:
4 sts = 1 " in garter st ( knit every row)

Instructions:
Note Dish cloth is reversible.
With variegated, cast on 15 sts.
Rows 1, 3, 5, and 7:
K 15.
Row 2.
K 3, YO, K11, turn leaving 1 st on needle.
Row 4:
K3, YO, K11, turn, leaving 2 sts on the needle.
Row 6:
K3, YO, K 11; turn, leaving 3 sts on the needle.
Row 8.
Bind off 3 sts; K2, YO, K8; turn, leaving 4 sts on needle.
Row 9, 11, and 13:
knit 12.
Row 10:
K3, YO, K 8; turn, leaving 5 sts on needle.
Row 12.
K3, YO, K8 turn, leaving 6 sts on needle.
Row 14:
Bind off 3 sts; K2, YO, K5: turn, leaving 7 sts on needle.
Rows 15, 17, and 19:
K 9
Row 16:
K3, YO, K5; turn, leaving 8 sts on needle.
Row 18:
K3, YO, K5; turn, leaving 9 sts on needle.
Row 20:
Bind off 3 sts; knit remaining 14 sts.
Rows 21 through 40:
With purple, rep Rows 1 through 20.
Rows 41 through 60:
With variegated, rep Rows 1 through 20.
Rows 61 through 80:
With purple, rep Rows 1 through 20.
Rows 81 through 100:
With variegated, rep Rows 1 through 20.
Rows 101 through 120:
With purple. rep Rows 1 through 20.
Rows 121 through 140:
With variegated, rep. Rows 1 through 20.
Rows 141 through 160:
With purple, rep. Rows 1 through 20.
Bind off leaving an 18 "end.
Carefully matching sts. sew cast-on edge to bind off edge, forming a swirled circle.
