Ever Green Adventure
Looking over the railing of the Log Cabin Deck, You could see vast mountians
covered with misty cascading clouds. Just below you could see the evergreen filled woods. There was a trail that could
be hiked by back packers and the grounds were covered with the soft fallen pine needles which gave off an aroma
of sweet natural pine.
In my dream I invisioned myself standing on this deck with a hot cup of
coffee early in the morning. I was thinking of the trails and hungered to explore them.
After Breakfast I dressed and prepared for a long hike. I brought camera,
pen and paper as I often like to write when the mood struck me. Most anything would inspire me from nature.
Soon I was in my car and drove to the edge of the woods. I parked and locked
my car for safe keeping.
I began my journey and what a lovely day it was for it. I had walked some distance
and desided to stop for a rest and have a lunch break. Soon a group of people also stopped and joined me. they each
introduced them self and we had our lunches together. After lunch we all joined together and backpacked the trail.
I would jot down some interesting thoughs and slide the note pad back in pack. One of the people asked me what I was
doing and I explained, I write and was writing down some inspiration of thought. They were very fasinated by this. We
continued on with our hike and soon came up to the site were we would set up camp for the night.
In the morning the group went one way and I another. I took many pictures
and wrote many thoughts. This was a peaceful day and the scent of the fresh evergreen was cleansing. I walked
a few more miles and I heard a distressful sound. I went to check it out and it was one of the people in the group I
had started out with. He had gotten seperated from the group and was a bit lost. He had also recieved an ingury.
I had a medcial first aid kit so was able to help mend him. I watched him closely for infection and fever. he was weak from
loss of blood, I gave him water to drink, , kept his wounds cleaned and shared my food with him. When he was well
enough to travel, We found the rest of the group and got him to proper medical care. He was soon feeling fine and I
had become close to a new friend. Letters were kept back and forth and future backpacking was schedualed to grow
the friendship. Then I woke
